William "Bill" Hulmes, 64, of Mantua, passed away July 30, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer. He is the beloved husband of Joan (nee Mattson), loving father of Wade, Scott (Kelly), Thomas (Danielle), daddy's little girl Wendi (Robert) Sargent, devoted Pop Pop of Jeffrey, Robert, Zachary and Danielle Sargent, Tyler, Chris, Nico, Jillian, Daniel and Jacqueline Hulmes. He is the son of Ruth (nee Marshall) and deceased William E. Hulmes Sr. Also survived by 3 brothers, 3 sisters, many brother and sister-in-laws, relatives, friends and his dog Kara and cat Precious.

Bill loved to watch sports, especially while his children and grandchildren were playing, going to weekend yard sales and to the market on Tuesday's and Sunday's. He especially loved to play the organ and serenade his wife in the morning, play lotto in the evening, and you could bet he always had a good joke to tell.

He was a true patriot to his country, he was a US Air Force Veteran and a member and volunteer to many organizations, including: Billingsport and Paulsboro Fire Departments, an honorary member of the Paulsboro Ladies Auxiliary, Paulsboro and Gibbstown Little League, Woodbury Lanes Bowling League and many other committees and church organizations.
