Vincent Battaglia Sr., 86, of Paulsboro, passed away December 27, 2008. He is the beloved father of Anthony V. Battaglia, Nancy L. Battaglia, Vincent N. Battaglia and loving brother of Fortunata (Tina) Chila. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his family in Italy.
Vincent was born in Italy and came to the US when he was very young. He is a WWII Army Veteran, a P.O.W., a member of the Disabled Veterans of America, life member of the American Vets, Post 77, Sewell, George Patton VFW Post 678, Paulsboro, American EX P.O.W. Chapter 2 and a life member of the Carmel S. Morina Sons Of Italy Lodge 2580. He was also very active in the Paulsboro Day Committee and a member of the St. John's Church, Paulsboro.
For many years he was the owner of Vince's Rainbow Room in Paulsboro. He loved riding his scooter around town to visit friends and to go to St. John's Church, but, especially enjoyed his yard work.
A viewing will be on Saturday 8:30-10:00AM at the Landolfi Funeral Home of Paulsboro, 300 W. Broad Street, followed by a Mass of Christian burial 10:30AM at the St. John's Church, Beacon Ave., Paulsboro. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery, Swedesboro.
