Obituary

Robert C. Buckley, 89, of Gibbstown, passed away peacefully March 6, 2026. He is the beloved husband of the late Joan (nee Behrenhauser) Buckley. Loving father of the late Robbie Buckley, Gary (Donna) Buckley, Alan Buckley (Maria Luisa) and Brian Buckley (Kelli), devoted grandfather of Michael, Mark, Jack, Stefanie, Melissa, great grandfather of Avery, Bella, Billy, Ellie, Clair, Weston and Teagan. Also survived by his sister Patricia (Bill) Hughes and his loving companion Peggy Warner. Predeceased by his parents William and Marie Buckley and his siblings Geraldine Smith and William Buckley.

Bob was a loving husband and devoted caregiver for his wife Joan for over 10 years until she passed. He loved being with his family and grandchildren. Loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Bob was born in Philadelphia and lived in Gibbstown for over 60 years. Graduated from Upper Darby High School and was a US Marine CPL Veteran. He was an accomplished wrestler in the Marines and in High School; he was hard working and very adventurous enjoying prospecting for gold in the jungles of South America. For over 20 years he drove a tractor trailer for Texaco and then became the co-owner of Norman Smith Enterprises for over 20 years.

Family and friends are invited to his viewing on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the St. Clare of Assisi Parish (St. Michael's Church), 9-11am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am.
