Rita Deliberis passed away peacefully at 98 years of age on September 6,2026 with her daughter JoAnn and supporting family members by her side. She was born to Domenic and Elena Angelini on August 24, 1928.
Rita was predeceased by husband Joseph and her son Gary, by brothers William, Walter and sister Mary. She is survived by daughter JoAnn and many nieces and nephews from both the Angelini and DeLiberis families.
She was devoted to her children, family and friends. Although Rita had no grandchildren of her own, she was a grandmother to her niece’s and nephew’s children.
Rita was a lifelong resident of Gibbstown.
Rita started her work career as a beautician. After retirement in 1970 she continued to serve as an advocate for displaced children.
She served as a CCD instructor at St. Michaels, volunteer at Underwood Hospital, moving on to volunteer at St. John of God. She eventually moved on to become a strong advocate for the Arthritis Foundation. Lastly, Rita became involved with the Cultural and Heritage Society of Gibbstown, which she truly loved. Also, during her lifetime, she was involved with the Mother of Sorrows Sodality and a devout member of St. Michael’s Church.
Rita enjoyed raising her family. She was the most loyal and sincere mother who loved her family so much. She embraced life making time for family and friends. She brought joy to each person she met.
After losing her son she shared her grief with other bereaved parents who lost their children by giving support and encouragement through letter writing.
