Richard Smith, 84, of Carney's Point, formerly of Bridgeport, passed away July 25, 2010. He is the beloved husband of Daisy (Ginny) Smith, loving father of Richard (Vicki) Smith, Shane (Charlene) Smith, Helena Malascalza, Debbie Martin, Debra (David) Obermeier, daughter-in-law Pat Sullivan, 11 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren. Predeceased by son John Malascalza.

Richard was born and raised in Chase City VA, was a US WWII Navy Veteran and was a member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church of Bridgeport. He was an avid NASCAR Racing fan and loved his animals Boo-Boo, Baby and Kit-Kat.

A viewing will be on Friday at the St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Main St., Bridgeport, from 9-11am with services immediately following at 11am. Interment St. Paul's Cemetery, Bridgeport.
