Obituary

Peter Martino, 91, of Paulsboro, passed away January 11, 2012. He is the loving husband of the late Anna (nee Chila) Martino, beloved father of Nicholas J., Frances McGurk, Pasqualina (James) Bolletino, Nicolina (Michael) Dreger, devoted brother of Bruna and Assunta Fallanca, Immacolata Girardi, Anna Calabro, Fortunato G. and Domenico Martino, loving Pop-Pop of Nicole (Dreger) Longo, Michelle (Dreger) Wipf, Aimee, Aaron and Andrea Bolletino, Ed McGurk, Trish Kreisel, Peggy Loar and great grandfather of Maggie, Michael, Nick, Dayna, Michelle, Stephen, Ashley and Kellianne. Predeceased by sister Maria and brother Antonino Martino.

Peter was born in Italy and came to the US in 1951. He served in the Italian Army during WWII and was a medic in the infantry division. He was captured by the enemy and held as a POW for 6 years. He was a very wise and unique man who was caring, loving and kind, even to those he didn't know. He loved his family, gardening, making wine from the grapes he grew, and, especially enjoyed making Sunday dinner.

A viewing will be on Sunday at the LANDOLFI FUNERAL HOME of Paulsboro, 300 W. Broad St., 6-8pm and on Monday 8:30-9:30am, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10am at the St. John's Church, St. Clare of Assisi Parish, Beacon Ave., Paulsboro. Interment Eglington Cemetery.
