Paul Morlachetta Jr. of Gibbstown passed away peacefully at the age of 90 with his family by his side on November 6, 2024. He was predeceased by his parents Paul and Helen Morlachetta and his siblings Eleanor Kain and George Morlachetta.
Paul was married to his high school sweetheart, Marie (Leto) for 68 years. He is survived by his children Kathy Ann Boruch (Pete), Renee Ely (Tom) and Andrea Campbell (Scott). Grandchildren Peter Boruch, Philip Boruch (Leah), Matthew Campbell (Maggie), Gabrielle Campbell and Nicole Campbell and great-grandchildren Michael and Mikayla Boruch and Kennedy and Nolan Campbell. Paul is also survived by his siblings Barry Morlachetta (Carole) and Linda Sochor (Bob).
Paul was a graduate of Paulsboro High School and Peirce Business College of Philadelphia. He served in the U.S. Army, stationed in France, and was honorably discharged. He was a life member and past president of St. Michael's Mutual Club as well as past president of the Gloucester County Municipal Clerk's Association and a lifetime member of the Municipal Clerk's Association of New Jersey.
Paul worked at DuPont in Gibbstown in the mechanical department. He served as a councilman in Gibbstown and was part time municipal clerk for many years until he was appointed the first full time clerk in Gibbstown history.
Paul was a devoted family man and he treasured spending time with his family. He was the number one fan for his children and grandchildren and could always be found cheering them on at sporting events. He loved the beach and enjoyed nothing more than riding the waves in the ocean. He was a kind and loving man who had a gift for making everyone laugh.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Tuesday morning, November 12th at 9:45 am at St. Clare of Assisi Parish, St. Michael's Church, Memorial Avenue, Gibbstown, NJ where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 am. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Swedesboro, NJ.
