Obituary

Pasquale "Blackie" Velahos, 81, a life long resident of Gibbstown, passed away May 18, 2010. He is the beloved husband of Margaret (nee DiFeterici), devoted father of Pat (Shelly), Monroeville NJ, John (Patricia), Vincent (Maria) Velahos, both of Mickleton, loving brother of Julia Davis, Caroline McDevitt, Mary Leach, Marguerite Pollicino, Anthony Velahos, grandfather of Nathan, David, Matthew, Jane, Mary, and great grandfather of Nathan Alexander. Also survived by his mother-in-law Marcella DiFeterici. Predeceased by his parents Efthemios and Mary (nee DiBenedetto) Velahos and brother John Velahos.

"Blackie" was a US Air Force Korean War Veteran, for 15 years he worked at the Hercules Plant as a chemical operator, and, later in years he became an entrepreneur owning rental properties and Pat's Deli in North Wildwood. He enjoyed going to the casino, loved being with his family, and, especially loved the time he spent with his grandchildren.

A viewing will be on Friday 6-9pm and Saturday 8:15-9:15am at the Landolfi Funeral Home of Paulsboro, 300 W. Broad St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10am at the St. Michael's Church, Memorial Ave., Gibbstown. Interment Eglington Cemetery.
