On April 22, 2017 of Gibbstown, NJ age 85 yrs. Beloved husband of Margaret "Margie" (nee Dellaratta). Devoted father of Ted Velykis (Anita Santiago). Dear brother of Nunie Malta and the late Bill Velykis. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Mr. Velykis was a graduate of Paulsboro HS class of 1950. He went on to serve as a tail gunner in the U.S. Air Force during Korea. Upon returning from military service, Norman earned degrees from Temple and Rowan Universities. Mr. Velykis enjoyed a lengthy career as an educator and retired from Kingsway Regional HS as Principal. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday morning from 9:30am at the LANDOLFI FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Broad St., Paulsboro, NJ, where a Memorial Service will follow at 10:30am. Entombment with military honors will follow at Gloucester County Veteran's Cemetery.
