Nicholas R. Colanero Sr., 75, of Gibbstown, passed away May 30, 2008. Born in Paulsboro he has been a life-time resident. He is the beloved husband of the late Irene C. Colanero (nee Fiderko), devoted father of Denise C. Gardner (Bill Ginipro), Paulsboro, Nicholas R. Jr. (Deborah King), Stephen W., both of Gibbstown, loving brother of Mary Smith, Deptford, Angie Wacker, Pitman, Carmen, Missouri, Danny, Paulsboro and Raymond (Mickey) of Nat'l Park. Also survived by his grandchildren Christopher and Melissa Gardner, Matthew Colanero and many nieces and nephews.

Nick was a successful standard-bred harness horse trainer and his shining star was "Casino Cowboy." He raced at Brandywine, Liberty Bell Park, Freehold and the Meadowlands. He loved being with his family, travelling and playing golf. He was a US Army Veteran.

A viewing will be on Wednesday 8:45am-10:15am at the St. Michael's Church, Memorial Ave., Gibbstown. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:30am. Interment Gloucester County Veterans Cemetery, Williamstown.
