Matthew M. Friars (Uncle Matt), 64, a life long resident of Paulsboro, passed away February 19, 2009. He is the beloved father of Tam Burns, Mt. Royal, loving brother of Mary Ann Dyer, Fla, Thomas (Rose) Friars, Mickleton, John (Martha) Friars and sister-in-law Margie Friars, both of Thorofare. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brother Charles and brother-in-law Danny Dyer.

Matt was a 1963 graduate of Paulsboro High, voted the "Best Looking" in his class, an honorary member of the Paulsboro VFW, Post 678, an avid and very talented dart player, a Nascar fan and very supportive of all Paulsboro and Philadelphia sports teams. He retired from Exxon/Mobil after 28 years of service.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday 9-11AM at the Landolfi Funeral Home of Paulsboro, 300 W. Broad St., followed by an 11AM service. Interment Eglington Cemetery.
