It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Jane Wade (Winchester), who left us on 4-2-2025. Mary Jane was born on 9-14-32 in Philadelphia, and throughout her life, she touched the hearts of many with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit.

Mary Jane grew up in Philadelphia, surrounded by loving family and friends. From an early age, she showed a keen intellect and a passion for learning, which she carried with her throughout her life. Mary Jane's early years were filled with cherished memories of summers in Seaside Heights NJ, and a strong desire to become a teacher.

Mary Jane pursued her education at Temple University, where she earned a degree in Education. Her dedication and hard work led her to a fulfilling career in teaching, where she made significant contributions and earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and peers. Mary Jane's professional journey was marked by numerous achievements and accolades, reflecting her commitment to excellence and innovation. She taught in the Hunter School, located in Kensington, Philadelphia, for 30 years.

Mary Jane was a devoted family member, always putting the needs of her husband and two boys above her own. She cherished every moment spent with family, creating a legacy of love and togetherness. Mary Jane married Walter William Wade in 1954 and together, they raised two boys, Walter Jr. and David, instilling in them the values of compassion, integrity, and resilience.

Beyond her professional and family life, she was an active member of the Central Baptist Church, generously giving her time and resources to various causes associated with the church. She believed in making a difference and worked tirelessly to improve the lives of others, especially her students. Mary Jane was also passionate about reading, postmarks, and the Jersey shore, finding joy and fulfillment in all of them.

Mary Jane's life was a testament to the power of prayer, hard work, and unwavering love for her Savior, Jesus Christ. She left an indelible mark on everyone she met, and her legacy will continue to inspire future generations. The impact of Mary Jane's life and the memories she created will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Mary Jane was pre-deceased by her father and mother (Edgar and Helen), brother (Douglas), and her husband (Walter Sr.).

She is survived by a brother Edgar (Kathy), two sons, Walter Jr. (Margarethe) and David (Sharon), grandchildren Eric (Stacey), Patrick, Danielle (Matthew) and Diana (Jordan). She had 8 great grandchildren, Payton, Gabriel, Seth, Campbell, Reagan, Matthew, Kylo and Keanu. She had a great-great-grandson, Hudson.

Mary Jane's passing leaves a void that can never be filled, yet her memory will live on through the countless lives she influenced and the love she shared with everyone. As we mourn the loss of our beloved "Grammy", let us also celebrate the beautiful legacy she leaves behind. Rest in peace, "Grammy".  Your spirit will forever guide and inspire us. A celebration of her life will be held at the later date at the convenience of the family.
