Obituary

Mario A. Nastasi, 83, of Gibbstown, passed away February 1, 2011. He is the beloved husband of 63 years to Rita A. (nee Morlachetta), devoted father of Annamarie (John) Dick, Tina (George) Davis, Stephen (Robin) Nastasi, loving brother of Joseph (Virginia) Nastasi, Catherine (Harry) Magazu, Joanne and stepbrother John Benne, dedicated grandfather of John Paul, Christopher, Jeffrey, Kyle, Lindsay, Stephen, Nicholas, Alyssa, great grandfather of Marina, Connor, Zachary and Peyton. Predeceased by his parents Salvatore and Fortunato, brother Santo Nastasi and stepbrother Joseph Benne.

Born in Paulsboro, resided in Gibbstown for 63 years and retired from Mobil Oil after 38 years of service. Mario was a master wood-worker, an avid Notre Dame and Yankees fan, was a member of St. Michael's Band, Club and their softball team. He also played for the SJ All Star and Pegasus softball teams and the P.A.A. football league. Mario was also a very dedicated and active parishoner of St. Michael's Church, served as a Eucharistic Minister and belonged to the Charismatic Renewal Group. He coached Gibbstown Little League and was a Boy Scout Leader for St. Michael's Troop 65.

A viewing will be on Sunday 6-8pm and Monday 10-11am at the St. Clare of Assisi Parish, St. Michael's Church, Memorial Ave., Gibbstown. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11am at the church. Interment Eglington Cemetery.
