Renold and Margaret Kappra (nee Biancone)
Renold Kappra, May 27, 1922 – October 2, 2011, of Paulsboro, NJ, passed away at home with his family on the morning of October 2.
Margaret (Peg) Kappra (nee Biancone) – April 29, 1923 – October 3, 2011. of Paulsboro, NJ, passed away at home with her family in the evening of October 3.
Renold and Peg are survived by their four children Joann Parker of Gibbstown, Tom (Carolyn) of Elkton, Md, Brian of Philadelphia and Rick of San Francisco; their grandchildren, Louis and Robert Parker, Brian Williams, Michael Kappra, Andrea Sparks and Sara Ellet, and great-grandchildren Justin, James, Chase and Emma.
Renold was born in Paulsboro and lived there for all of his life. He was a devoted and caring father and husband. He was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army and served in Europe during World War II where he was wounded in battle and received a Purple Heart. Renold worked as an engineer at E.I. Nemours until 1972 when he suffered his second heart attack and went out on disability. He was an active member of his community and St. John's Church, serving on committees and as president of Paulsboro Senior Citizens' Club.
Renold is survived by his siblings, Ella, Raymond and Yolanda. He was preceded in death by his brothers Harry, Raulo and Rudolph.
Peg was born in Riverside, NJ. She was a dedicated and loving mother and wife. She was a homemaker and loved cooking and baking. She was an active member of her community and St. John's Church, serving on committees, volunteering at BINGO, and also was active in Paulsboro Senior Citizens' Club where she served as President. She also enjoyed running monthly bus trips to Atlantic City to raise money for the Paulsboro Seniors' Club.
She is the last surviving member of a family of 9 siblings, preceded in death by Marie, Anthony, Lucy, Joseph, Elizabeth, Lawrence, Robert and Arthur.
Renold and Peg were married for 65 years. They had many full and joyous years together. Their first meeting was at a ballroom dance in Paulsboro and they enjoyed many full years of dancing and celebrating life with their family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Friday morning from 8:30 a.m. at St. John's church 647 Beacon Avenue, Paulsboro, NJ, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment with Military Honors at Gloucester County Veterans' Cemetery.
