Obituary

Lucy Donofrio (nee Salamone), 95, entered into eternal glory on February 8, 2015, in Cherry Hill NJ. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Katherine Salamone, her husband Nicholas, and, her brother Angelo (Buddy) Salamone. She is survived by her son Nicholas (Marie), daughters Theresa Francese and Margaret Skalecki, also survived by 8 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Lucy grew up in Brooklyn, NY, married Nicholas in 1942 and became a devoted Army wife. In 1949 she and her three children sailed to Germany to be with her husband serving as an Army officer. While there she had the opportunity to tour many parts of Western Europe. Upon returning to America in 1952, they bought a house and settled in Neptune, NJ. Another Army assignment in 1954 took her and her family to Alaska for a two year tour. Returning to Neptune she became active at Holy Innocents Church where she was also a daily Communicant. She was a member of The Catholic Daughters of America, the Blue Army of Our Lady of Fatima and the Third Order of the Trinitarian's. For the past several years she has been a resident of St. Mary's Home in Cherry Hill.

Viewing will be on Saturday, 10-11:15am at the St. Clare of Assisi Parish (St. John's Church), 647 Beacon Ave, Paulsboro NJ. Mass of Christian burial 11:30am. Interment private. Arrangements by LANDOLFI FUNERAL HOME of Paulsboro, 300 W. Broad St. To share condolences www.landolfifuneralhome.com
