Leona M. Funari (nee Crouch), 56, of New Castle DE, passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by her family and GOD'S GRACE and the mercy of the SACRED HEART OF JESUS, September 15, 2014. It was a beautiful sunny morning. She is survived by her beloved husband Michael N. Funari, devoted mother of Joseph (Emily), Robert (Kelsey Beck), loving daughter of Obera Crouch, sister of Debbie Konzik, Richard and Jennifer Crouch, daughter-in-law of Joseph and Erma Funari, sister-in-law of Joanne (Frank) Obrien, Tina (Steven) McAllister, Lisa (Peter) Nellius, grandmother of Makenzie, nephews and nieces that were at her side when she left with JESUS: Stephanie, Steven, Sean, Peter, Natalie, Tara, Anthony, Nate, Emma, Frankie, Bobbie-Lynn, Nicholas, Trent, Aldin, Lily, Vincent Carchidi, Kelly, Adam, Christy, Amanda, Erik, Stefano and Alessandro. Predeceased by her father Robert E. Crouch and sister Delores Crouch.

Leona was born in Chester Pa., formerly of Swedesboro, attended Walter Hill Elementary and graduated from Kingsway High School. She was the deli manager at Funari's Thriftway in Gibbstown where she also managed the catering dept. After moving to Delaware she was the deli manager for Zingo's supermarket.

A visitation with the family will be Tuesday 10-11:15am at the St. Clare of Assisi Parish (St. Michael's Church), 313 Memorial Ave., Gibbstown NJ, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11:30am.
