Larry P. Hurlburt, 72, of Gibbstown, passed away August 28, 2021. He is the beloved husband of Linda (nee Covey), father of Dana Guarracino (Steve Harbold), Edward Sulek II (Amanda), loving grandfather of Kylie, Grace, Edward III (Tripp), Elliana and brother of Mary Hurlburt.

Larry spent 47 years in the Gibbstown Volunteer Fire Department and Gloucester County devoting his life to saving lives. In the GVFD he held the following positions: Chief, Deputy Chief, Fire Marshal, EMT, President, VP and Secretary. In Greenwich Township he was the first Fire Official, Fire Sub Code Official and OEM Coordinator. He was a life member of the GVFD Relief Association, President and VP.  In Gloucester County he was the Deputy Fire Marshall, Fire Academy Instructor, Fire Police and was the President of the Gloucester County Fireman's Association. He also served in many other municipalities. Larry was a Judge for the Delaware Valley Judge Association.

Larry graduated from Glassboro State in 1971 with a teaching degree and graduated from Paulsboro High School in 1967. He taught Language Arts in the Vineland School District from 1971-1994.  He loved the Phillies, travelling, family time and spending time with his rescue dachshunds.

Family and friends are invited to a Memorial that will be held on September 11th, at the Gibbstown Firehouse, 700 E. Broad Street, Gibbstown NJ, from 1 to 2pm. A service will be begin at 2pm.
