Kenneth J. O'Brien, Sr., 82, of Long Beach MS, formerly of Gibbstown, passed away May 12, 2015, at home, with his family by his side. He is with his Lord and Heavenly Father. He is the beloved husband of 59 years to Louise Angeline O'Brien, devoted father of Timothy (Paula) and Patrick O'Brien, Kathleen (Mark) Harshbarger, Louise O'Brien, Eileen (Jeff) Jenkins, Maureen (William) Morris, 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, loving brother of John Freeman, John and Joni O'Brien. Predeceased by his parents John O'Brien and Pauline Freeman, son , Kenneth J. O'Brien, Jr., sisters Lucille Finlaw and Lorraine Nathans.

He is a 1950 graduate of Paulsboro High School, was a US Army Veteran, worked for Hercules Chemical Co. in Gibbstown, E.I DuPont's in Deepwater and in Delisle, MS, Medal Co. in DE and was a special officer for Gibbstown Police Dept.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11am at the St. Clare of Assisi Parish (St. Michael's Church), Memorial Ave., Gibbstown, where friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery, Swedesboro. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations to Notre Dame Hospice, 5407 Indian Hill Blvd, Diamondhead, MS 39525 or Holy Family Catholic Church, 22342 Evangeline Dr., Pass Christian, MS 39571.
