Obituary

Joseph Marcucci, of Gibbstown, passed away peacefully at the age of 77 on November 15, 2024, with his beloved family and friends by his side. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Olga Marcucci, and his son, Michael Chew.
Joseph was married to his loving wife, Patricia, for 39 years. He is survived by his children, Megan Gilikin (Ryan) and Christopher Chew (Nicole); his cherished grandchildren, Michael Chew, Natalie Chew, Ryan Gillikin, and Christopher Gillikin; and his siblings, John Marcucci Jr. (Sherri) and Diane Sadnytzky (Nicholas). He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who he truly loved.
A proud graduate of St. James High School and St.Mary's Semiary and University, Joseph earned his Master's degree in Divinity. He was a life member and past president of St. Michael's Mutual Club, where he formed lifelong friendships and created lasting memories, often seen in the kitchen helping with events. His dedication to his community extended to his long and successful career as a certified Family Counselor with the State of New Jersey, where he made a lasting impact on the lives of those he served. Joseph also devoted time to the local school board in Gibbstown and was deeply committed to his church and faith community.
Joseph's devotion to his family was unparalleled. He cherished every moment spent with his loved ones, whether it was watching Philadelphia's sports teams or enjoying good food and conversation. His family, friends, and neighbors were treated as his own, and his kindness, generosity, and sense of humor will be dearly missed. Joseph had a special bond with his brothers at the St. Michael's Club, where the camaraderie and shared moments of joy brought him great happiness.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Wednesday, November 20th, at 9:45 AM at St. Clare of Assisi Parish, St. Michael's Church, Memorial Avenue, Gibbstown, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM, with interment following at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Swedesboro, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Guardian Angels Elementary School, 150 S. School St., Gibbstown NJ 08027 or via online donation at [insert donation website].
