Obituary

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on January 18, 2023 age 98 yrs. Beloved husband of 76 years, Mary (nee Marinelli). Proud father of Karen McGough, Joseph Manni (Loren) and Kevin Manni. Dear brother of Jeanne. Proud Pop Pop of Kristin (Stan), William, Brandon and Ryan. Proud great-grandfather of Cooper, Bennett, Owen and Piper. Predeceased by his brothers Peter, Mario, and Albert. Joseph was born and raised in Ardmore, PA where he graduated from Lower Merion High School. He moved to Mickleton NJ in 1960.  He proudly served his country in the US Army 1st Armored Division, 6th Armored Infantry Regiment during World War II in Africa, Italy and Germany. During his service, among numerous medals, he received the Combat Infantry Badge, Purple Heart with Two Oak Leaf Clusters and the Distinguished Bronze Star. After his service Joe enjoyed a long career as a Supervisor for Monsanto Chemical Co. for over 25 years. Joe enjoyed bowling, tennis and baseball. He was a faithful parishioner of St. Michael's Church where he served on many parish committees, including the Parish Council and School Board. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Wednesday morning 10AM at St. Clare of Assisi Parish, St. Michael's Church, Memorial Ave., Gibbstown , NJ, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am. At the request of the Family, all are  kindly requested to wear a mask when greeting the family. Interment with Military Honors will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Swedesboro, NJ.
