John A. Vellutato, 82, of Atlantic City, formerly of Paulsboro, passed away March 26, 2010. He is the husband of the late Eleanor (nee Nowak) Vellutato, beloved father of Karen (Robert) Marano, John (Janet) Vellutato, Mark Vellutato, loving brother of Pauline Salvatore, Theresa (Randolph) Minix, James (Janis) Vellutato, Julius (Susan) Vellutato, Francis (Virginia) Vellutato, dedicated grandfather of Eric and Stephanie Marano, John (Denise) and Kyle Vellutato, sister-inlaws Donna and Josephine Vellutato and MaryJane and Lorraine Nowak. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Joseph and Arthur Vellutato.

John was a resident of Paulsboro for over 60 years, was a 1945 graduate of Paulsboro High School, inducted in the Paulsboro Sports Hall of Fame, received the George D. Patton Memorial Award for outstanding football player in his graduating class, attended University of Notre Dame on a football scholarship and graduated in 1950, retired from RCA after 35 years of service and was a US Naval Veteran.

He loved being with his family and friends at gatherings, and, especially enjoyed playing the slots in Atlantic City.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday 8:30-10:15am at the Landolfi Funeral Home of Paulsboro, 300 W. Broad St., followed by a Mass of Christian burial, 11am at the St. John's Church, Beacon Ave., Paulsboro. Interment Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro.
