John R. Dowdy III ("Rowdy Dowdy") 46, of Gibbstown, passed away February 18, 2011. He is the beloved son of Karen (nee Shivery) Dowdy (Ben) and the late John R. Dowdy Jr., loving brother of Aaron (Carrie) Dowdy, Keri (Mark) and Andrea Sias, Casey (Jose) Haddon, uncle of Junior, Sammy, Ethan, Mason, Kailyn, Riely, Jonna and Nora. Loving companion of Noel Morina.

John had a heart of gold, was a well known local character that was always full of surprises, loved spending time with his family and friends, and, was an avid fisherman. For many years he was an industrial mechanic for Kenny Atlantic Inc. of W. Deptford.

A viewing will be on Tuesday 7-9 at the LANDOLFI FUNERAL HOME of Paulsboro, 300 W. Broad St. At the request of the family burial will be private.
