Obituary

John M. Contino, age 88, of Paulsboro died March 13, 2012.

Born in Philadelphia, he lived there before moving to Paulsboro in 1949. He was an Army Air Corp Veteran and served during WWII as a tailgunner on a B-24 Liberator flying 33 missions and stationed in the South Pacific. He was a stationary engineer for Dupont and retired after 36 years. He was also a watch repairman and loved working with wood.

John was a member of the Knights of Columbus and he volunteered as an ambulance driver for the Paulsboro Fire Co.

He was predeceased by his grandson, Dean. John is survived by his wife, Mary (nee Gattuso); four children John (Cynthia Gilbert)Contino, David (Maryjane)Contino, Marianne (John Ferencsik) Contino, and Eileen (Thomas) Therrien; one brother, Joseph (Margaret) Contino; and five grandchildren, Anthony, Annicia, Maribeth, Brooke, and Karen.

Viewing will be Sat. 9:30-11am at St. Clare of Assisi at St. John Church Beacon Ave. Paulsboro where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am. Burial Gloucester Co. Veterans Cem. Williamstown.
