Joe Smith

Joe Smith, 77, of Gibbstown and Naples, Florida, passed away suddenly July 8, 2026. He is the beloved husband of Rosemary (nee Finazzo), devoted father of Rochelle Smith, Michael (Erica) Smith, Joe (Liz), Kelly Rion, Denise Smith, loving grandfather of Zoey, Casia, Rhett, Callie, Brielle, Logan, Brayden, Oliver, Brendan and great grandfather of Aiyla, Nova and Lennox. Also survived by his brother Jack Smith. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Florence Smith, his siblings Danny and Pat Smith, Lori Santiago.

Joe had a lifelong love of football and never missed a game, whether he was cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles or watching his kids or grandkids sporting events. He was the kind of father who never sacrificed time when it came to his kids successes. When he wasn’t on the sidelines, he could always be found in Naples in the pool or our favorite beaches.

He was a familiar face at his favorite local diners with his dear friend Rick Kastrava. He embraced life with a positive spirit.

People were naturally drawn to Joe because of his low-key personality and an easy going nature. He found happiness in the simple things and will be remembered for the joy he brought to everyone who knew him.

He was blessed to experience a lifetime of travel and adventure thoughtfully planned by his beloved wife Rosemary. Together they shared many unforgettable memories.

His kindness, laughter and love for family and friends will be deeply missed.

Family and friends are invited to his viewing on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at St. Clare of Assisi Parish (St. Michael's Church), 313 Memorial Ave Gibbstown, from 10am-11:30am, with a Mass of Christian burial at 11:30am.
