Janet E. Silvestro (nee Zane), 71, of Gibbstown, passed away May 29, 2009 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She is the beloved wife of Pete Silvestro, loving mother of Deborah Stecher, Robert (Carol) Stecher, devoted sister of Lois VanScoy, Sarah (Bobby) Ahrens and Brian (Ginger) Zane, grandmother of Shannon, Bobby and Laura Stecher, Harry (Andrea) and Tina Garrity. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Howard and Dorothy Zane, daughter Tina Louise and brother-inlaw Richard VanScoy.

Janet was a loving woman who was her mothers caretaker for over 20 years, was a member of the Repaupo Methodist Church, went to Swedesboro Grammar School, graduated from Glassboro High in 1955, and for many years worked at Rode's Deli and Funari's Thriftway in Gibbstown. She loved being with her family and friends, being a homemaker baking her wonderful cakes and dinners, enjoyed crafts, playing games, reading and going to the casino/shore. She will be missed by all those that knew and loved her.

A viewing will be Wednesday 9-11AM at the Landolfi Funeral Home of Paulsboro, 300 W. Broad St., followed by services at 11AM. Interment Eglington Cemetery.
