George G. Trexler Sr., 57, of Gibbstown, passed away January 13, 2010, after a long and courageous battle, for over 15 years, with Guillian Barre' and cancer. He is the beloved husband of his devoted, caring and best friend Judy (nee Clegg), loving and dedicated father of George Jr., and Joseph, brother of Kathy (Tom) Brittingham, Pittsgrove, William of Mullica Hill, John of Paulsboro, James (Stacy) of Pittsgrove, Thomas and Ronald of Swedesboro. Also survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law Joseph and Joan Clegg, sister-in-law Jill (Dave) Grimes, all of Gibbstown, brother-in-law's Joseph (Toni) Clegg, Paulsboro, Michael Duke of Gibbstown, his faithful companions Macie and grand-dog Veronica, many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Doris and Clarence Trexler, sister-in-law Jana L. Duke and nephew Bryan A. Duke.

George had a heart as big as his smile. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend to all that knew him. He would do anything for anyone who needed his help. For many years he served as president and coach for Gibbstown Little League, several years as president of Gibbstown Midget Football and on the Gibbstown Recreation Committee. George worked for B.P. Oil in Paulsboro for 23 years before becoming disabled.

George loved the Philadelphia Phillies, cherished his vacation time spent at the Big Timber Lake Campground with his family, and, before his illness he loved fishing, crabbing and summer vacations spent in Stone Harbor.

A viewing will be held on Sunday 5:30-8:30PM and Monday 10:00-11:00AM at the Landolfi Funeral Home of Paulsboro, 300 W. Broad St., followed by services at 11AM.
