George J. Griggs, Sr., 92, long time resident of Gibbstown, passed away June 28, 2022. He is the beloved husband of Gladys (nee Williams), devoted father of Denise (Richard) Wallace, George J. Jr. (Patricia), loving grandfather of Kelly, Dewey, Chalie, Martha, Richard Jr., great grandfather of Steven, Kevin, great great grandfather of Brooklyn and Lillie. Also survived by his brother Raymond (June) Griggs, predeceased by his siblings Marilyn Camero and Jeanine Brody.

George belonged to Local 14 Heat & Frost Insulator Union from where he retired, also being awarded the 65 year pin. He loved being with his family and grandchildren. He enjoyed the Phillies, Eagles, golfing, crabbing and fishing. He coached the all girls softball team in Oak Valley and he started the Oak Valley Vikings Football team where he was the first head coach.

Family and friends are invited to his viewing on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, from 9 to 10:45AM at the LANDOLFI FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Broad St., Paulsboro, followed by a service at 11AM.
