Obituary

Gabriel A. Covici of Gibbstown, NJ peacefully passed away on July 25, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.  He is survived by his four loving daughters:  Denise Grenhart (Steve), Michele Brickner (Bob), Yvonne Knorr (late Harry), and Alisa Donofrio (Lewis, Jr).  He is predeceased by his wife Rita McKenna Covici, and a daughter Paula Costello.  He is also survived by ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  Gabe was a life-long resident of Gibbstown and the last Covici of his generation.  He was a proud veteran of the Korean War era.  As a young man, Gabe enjoyed baseball and was a fast pitch artist.  He loved his home on Rambo Avenue where he tended the finest lawn on the block and his beautiful gladiolas.  Gabe was an aficionado of fine automobiles and was especially fond of Cadillacs.  The family would like to thank the staff of Shady Lane Nursing Home who helped Gabe make the difficult transition from his home to assisted living.  Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Friday morning from 10 to 11am at the LANDOLFI FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Broad St., Paulsboro, NJ, where a Funeral Service will follow at 11am.  Interment with Military Honors will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Swedesboro, NJ.  To express condolences, please visit www.landolfifuneralhome.com
