Francis (Frank) Wurtz, 86, life-long resident of
Paulsboro passed away October 23, 2020 at his home.
He was the beloved husband of the late Miriam "Buzzy" Wurtz
With whom he shared 64 years of marriage at the time of her passing
on October 7, 2020. Devoted father of Deborah (Sam) Wurtz-Luzzo
and Christopher (Bradley) Wurtz. In addition to his wife, he
was predeceased by 1 brother.
Born in Camden and raised in Paulsboro, he was a graduate of
Paulsboro High School and proudly served his country in the U.S.
Army. Together with his wife he owned and operated Wurtz Automotive
and later in life organized and conducted the Country Corral dances at
St. Michael's Mutual Hall in Gibbstown.
As a young man, Frank was an accomplished auto racer and was well
known in local racing circles. His love of cars and an aptitude for the
mechanics behind them became one of his passions. Frank was also the
founder and past President of the Paulsboro Road Rods. Additionally he
enjoyed classic country music, country dancing, drives to Cape May with his wife,
politics and spending time with his family and friends. Frank was a great
storyteller and will be missed by those that knew him.
