Franceska Anastasia Villare (nee Pappas), passed away peacefully at the age of 87 embraced by the Lord she loved so deeply. She had a quiet strength and gave of herself selflessly never asking for anything in return. Faith was the foundation of her life as it brought much peace and guided her moral compass throughout life's journey. Not only did she cherish Saint Thomas Greek Orthodox Church, but she adored her children and grandchildren. Throughout her life she could be found happily baking her signature Italian cream and strawberry short cakes to singing alongside her sisters and daughter in the church choir. Franceska made her mark. She knew the importance of family and prayer and at all times could be found with a cross around her neck and an icon in her hand.
Once her children were grown she pursued her desire to become a lawyer, graduating from Temple University School of Law. Her zest for learning continued as she obtained her Masters in Tax Law from Widener School of Law.
There wasn't much that held her wild spirit down as she traveled the world several times over. Her studies took her to Oxford University in England and Tel Aviv University in Israel. One month she could be found climbing the Great Wall of China and months later she would be on an African safari. From India to Japan, Peru, Europe and Russia she left no stone unturned.
Between travels she spent time buying real estate. She especially loved the colors blue and white, and she took great joy in creating warm and welcoming spaces. Anyone who knew her knows how much time she spent at the Delaware Beach. She loved the beach, but not the sand. Franceska had a different mission, and that was to create spaces for tenants to enjoy for years to come.
She touched everyone she met with her kind and generous spirit. Her smile and bright eyes lit up a room. She will be deeply missed, but the memories she created will live on.
Franceska is survived by her beloved husband Anthony, her daughter Andrea (Leslie), her son Antony (Beth), and her cherished grandchildren Daniel, Sarah, Danielle and Sophia. She is also survived by her sister Katina Velahos (Anthony) and was preceded in death by her sister Zoe Kousoulis, who passed away earlier this year.
Family and friends are invited to her viewing, Thursday, November 12, 2026, 9-10:45 am at the St. Thomas Greek Orthodox Church, 615 Mercer St., Cherry Hill, followed by services at 11am. Entombment Locust Wood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in her memory to the Danielle Kousoulis Memorial Scholarship Fund, PO Box 98, Collingswood NJ 08108.
