Forest "Boots" Coleman, 83, of Bridgeport, passed away January 2, 2024. Survived by his devoted wife of 58 years; Bonnie L. (nee Smith), loving father of Kimberly (Scott) Harbeson. Predeceased by his son Malcolm Coleman.
He is originally from Virginia, then moved to Penns Grove and loved living on North Shore. He has many cherished memories from living and growing up in that area.
He spent 4 years with the Marine Corp and was very proud of his time in the service.
He married the love of his life Bonnie.
From there they had Malcolm and then Kimberly. In the early 1970's the family moved to Bridgeport where he would live out the rest of his life and make life long friends.
In 1992 he was blessed with his first grandchild Ryan and a few years later then Steven. They were the true loves of his life. He was their daycare teacher and took that roll very seriously.
He enjoyed going fishing and just out for a boat ride with his family down the creek. He enjoyed his time going away with his son on fishing trips down south.
He was a member of the Raccoon Boat club where he enjoyed going and spending time just being near the water.
He enjoyed watching his grandchildren thrive in their sports from township to high school to college. He treasured the times when he was playing cards with his son-in-law Scott Harbeson.
Boots did not travel a lot he always said he had everything he needed right here.
His stories, which are many and life skills will be missed by family and friends.
Boots suffered a lot of medical issues but never gave into them and always said why should he complain, he can still see his grandchildren and that was all he needed.
He is leaving us with broken hearts in his passing.
