Eugene "Goob" Wachter, 77, of Repaupo, formerly of Gloucester City, passed away December 17, 2012, with his family by his side. He is the beloved husband of Jean (nee Rastelli); devoted father of Mark (Amy), Mary (Brendon) Wachter, Regina (Joe) Canavan and Eric; loving grandfather of Katie, Evy, Luke and Ryan; and brother of Frances Witz and Florence (Ed) Bernosky; and uncle to many cherished nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by brothers Joseph, John, Maurice, Aloysius and James; sisters Mary, Theresa and Joan; nephews Paul Rastelli, Brian Wachter and John Rastelli; niece Arlene DiGiulio; great nephew Matthew Croce; and great-niece Megan Wachter.

Eugene was a US Army Veteran and paratrooper with the 101st Airborne, a member of the Knights of Columbus of Paulsboro and the Carmel S. Morina Sons of Italy. He was a 1955 graduate of Gloucester Catholic High and a member of the IBEW Local 351. Eugene was a lifelong Notre Dame fan.

A viewing will be held on Friday 9:30-11am at the St. Clare of Assisi Parish, St. Michael's Church, Memorial Ave., Gibbstown. A Mass of Christian burial will be 11am, interment St. Joseph's Cemetery, Swedesboro. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Guardian Angels School, 150 S.
