Obituary

Eleanor R. Giordano (nee Rebyak), 91, of Gibbstown passed away February 7, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Joseph M. Giordano, Sr. and daughter of the late Thomas and Mary E. Rebyak. The beloved mother of Joseph M. Giordano Jr. (Denise), Kathleen M. Dick (late Craig), Anthony L. Giordano (Diane), Michelle L. Yurchak (Steve), Evelyn M. Smith (Michael) and Raymond D. Giordano (Tracey). Loving grandmother of Melissa, Stephan Jr., Lisa, Christopher, Phillip, Jason, Leslie, Talia, Craig, Elyse, Danielle, Jessica, Paul, Kelly, Sammy, and Anthony. She is also survived by 18 great grandchildren her sister Maryellen Pollock, her sister-in-law Anita Lombardo and brother-in-law Anthony Giordano. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Craig H. Dick Sr. and also predeceased by her siblings: Thomas, George, Larry and William Rebyak and her sister Elizabeth Wood.

Eleanor was born in Camden and resided in the Paulsboro/Gibbstown area her entire life. She was a graduate of Paulsboro High School Class of 1951, where she excelled as a Majorette with the marching band.  After graduation she and her close high school girlfriends started what was known as "The Club" and continued meeting monthly for over 50 years. She was the past secretary of The Gibbstown Midget Football Association and was past President of the Gibbstown PTA. Eleanor retired from Del Monte Foods as a Supervisor of Quality Control with over 20 years of service.

Eleanor enjoyed vacationing in the summertime down the shore in Stone Harbor with her entire family, where she spent many years alongside the Clegg family. She especially enjoyed spending hours on end sunning on the beach. She loved her family immensely and gave her life to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had an incredible sense of humor and always made people feel as if they were a part of the family.

Family and friends are invited to her viewing on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at the St. Clare of Assisi Parish (St. Michael's Church), 313 Memorial Avenue, Gibbstown NJ, from 9am-11:15am. Mass of Christian Burial will begin 11:30am, interment Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro NJ. In lieu of flowers you may donate to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis TN 38105 or www.stjude.org or to a charity of your choice.
