Passed away peacefully on August 6, 2022, after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease, surrounded by his loving family, of Mickleton, formerly of Gibbstown NJ, age 72 yrs. He is the son of the late Fred (Margie) and Norma Schappert. Devoted father of Sommer Jamison (Brian) and Sandi Nastase (Bryan). Dear brother of Barbara Mazzatenta (Dan), Christine Thomas (Kevin), Lewis Schappert (Jennifer) and the late Fred Schappert (Cheri). Loving grandfather of Jaycie, Jayda, Alexis, Santino, Shelby, Alec, Andrew, and Jake. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Edward graduated from Paulsboro High School in 1968. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during Vietnam. Edward worked for many years at Air Products and eventually retired from Electro Watt. As a "Jack of all trades," Edward was always the go-to guy for home repairs and welding. When he wasn't helping other people with their projects, Edward enjoyed fishing. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday morning from 10-11am at St. Clare of Assisi Parish, St. Michael's Church, Memorial Ave, Gibbstown, NJ, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am. Entombment with Military Honors will follow at Gloucester County Veteran's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Michael J.
