Edward J. Mitana ("Mang"), 93, of Gibbstown, passed away September 30, 2023, at his home. He is the husband of the late Antoinette (Toni) Mitana. Ed was born in Camden and resided in Gibbstown for his entire life. After graduating from Paulsboro High School in 1948, he was employed by Hercules and then Mobil Refinery for over 25 years. After retirement he became a Crossing Guard for Greenwich Township Schools for 5 years. He enjoyed being a member of the Gibbstown VFW Post 5579 and the Paulsboro Carmel Morina Sons of Italy. He was a US Navy Veteran.

Survived by his son, Edward II of Gibbstown, his daughter Janet (John) Vellutato of Lewisville, Texas and his sister Elaine Duca of Gibbstown. Also survived by his grandchildren: John Jr. and Kyle Vellutato, Gary Funk, Eric, Stephen and Matthew Mitana, his great grandchildren; Emily, Ethan, Gabe, Matthew, Jace, Lizabelle, Harper and Taylor.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Friday, October 6, 2023 at the St. Clare of Assisi Parish (St. Michael's Church), Memorial Avenue, Gibbstown from 9:30 -10:45 followed by a Funeral Mass at 11AM.
