Earl Browning Huntley, passed away at the age of 90 at his home in Ocean View NJ, February 4, 2012.

Born in Pennsgrove NJ on January 19, 1922 to C. Nelson and Effie (Browning) Huntley. Earl was a fighter to the core. His strong-willed (some might say stubborn) disposition suited him well while he served as a WWII Veteran in the Army. He earned the Bronze Star for his bravery in the Pacific Campaign. When he returned home to Gibbstown, he began work as a research chemist for DuPont Eastern Labs and was awarded several patents. He was active with the Anthony T. Calista Gibbstown VFW, Little League, Boy Scouts and served on the Gibbstown School Board. He enjoyed fishing, camping and playing cards.

Later in his life, in spite of his disability and other serious medical problems, Earl's determination meant living each day to its fullest. He remained actively involved with his family and friends who found his zeal and outright refusal to submit to his conditions an infectious inspiration. His grandkids speak fondly of the sweet and spicy smell of his pipe tobacco - even though Earl gave up the habit over 10 years ago: the sort of lingering memory that instantly recalls time spent with their beloved grandfather.

Earl is survived by his wife of 68 years, Dorothy (nee Hendrickson), their two sons: Dennis (Maureen) and Bob (Kathy). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Jean Ann McGowan (Joe).

Funeral and burial will be private. There will be a private celebration of his life at the family home in Ocean View. In lieu of flowers it is requested that donations be made to the Love Of Linda Cancer Fund, PO Box 1053, Wildwood NJ 08260.
