Obituary

Dominick J. Minnite, 86, of West Deptford, formerly of Paulsboro, passed away June 7, 2012, at home, with his family by his side. He is the beloved husband of the late Norma (nee Sipple) Minnite, devoted father of Lori Minnite, Ken (Kathy) Minnite, Dee Minnite (Stephen Verner), and loving grandfather of Gabrielle, Justin, Jason, Eva and Theo.

Dom, who was known to family and friends by his childhood nickname "Migsy," was born on Capitol Street in Paulsboro. He grew up in a large, close-knit community of siblings, cousins, aunts and uncles who inspired an abiding love of family. He was a good and decent man, who more than anything else adored his wife of 53 years, Norma, his children, and later, his wonderful grandchildren. Dom was a U.S. Army Veteran, 787th Field Artillery Battalion, serving in Europe during WWII. When he returned from the war, he enrolled in the Philadelphia Museum School of Industrial Art and took classes at night while working full-time at the Mobil Oil Refinery, from which he retired in 1989, after 43 years of service. In the 1950's, before their children were born, Dom and Norma were the proprietors of the Mickleton General Store.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, 10-11:15am at the St. John's Church, St. Clare of Assisi Parish, Beacon Ave., Paulsboro. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30am.
