Charles D. Pigliacelli (Charlie) of Ocean View, DE, 69, passed away June 17 at home. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he resided in Delaware for the past five years, and was formerly of Mickleton and Oaklyn, NJ. Charlie was a graduate of St. Joseph's University, Class of '74. After beginning his work career at the Philadelphia Produce Market, he joined John Vena Inc. in 1985 where he worked the rest of his career. He was a faithful Catholic and was involved in various Catholic charities during his life. He had a passion for coaching and playing sports, especially soccer. He loved music, dining out, and traveling, but most of all, spending time with his family.
Charlie was a devoted husband to his late wife, Mary, for 44 years, before her death in 2019. He was a loving father to his three children, and the best Poppi to his grandchildren. He is survived by his children, Michael (Bette Jo) Pigliacelli, Liz (Joseph) Tursi, Tricia (Brian) Washington, 10 grandchildren and his brother-in-law John Paul (Donna) Marceau. Charlie had a wide circle of friends including childhood friends, fraternity brothers, market friends, and friends he made in his later years in Delaware. Charlie spent the last two years of his life having fun and adventures with his loving girlfriend, Dawn Cheney.
Services will be Friday. Jun 24 at St. Clare of Assisi Parish - St. Michael's Church, 313 Memorial Ave., Gibbstown, NJ. Friends may meet with the family on Friday from 9:00 am to 10:15 am at the church, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Interment will immediately follow the mass at St. Joseph Cemetery, Woolwich Twp. NJ. Arrangements are being handled by the LANDOLFI FUNERAL HOME, Paulsboro, NJ.
