Charles Maden Jr., 87, of Deptford, formerly of Gibbstown, passed away January 1, 2011. He is the beloved father of Phyllis (Tom) Sparks, Charles (Deborah) Maden, grandfather of Claudia (Matt) Gemberling, Nancy (Vince) Bjurman, Suzanne and Tom Sparks, and great grandfather of Kayla Finlason. Predeceased by his wife Elaine (Wohlfarth) Maden, whom he married in 1951. Born in Gibbstown to Charles and Sarah Ann (nee Bradley) Maden, the 1st boy of 8 children and the 3rd generation to reside in Gibbstown.

Charles was a US WWII Navy Veteran, in 1975 retired from EI DuPont's as a rigger, a lifetime member of the Anthony T. Calista VFW of Gibbstown, a member of the Gibbstown Swim Club and an Altar Boy for the original St. Michael's Church, on Broad Street, in Gibbstown.

A viewing will be on Saturday 9-10:30am at the LANDOLFI FUNERAL HOME of Paulsboro, 300 W. Broad Street, with services following at 10:30am. Interment Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro.
