Charles A. Croce, 87, of Lower Bank NJ, formerly of Gibbstown, passed away peacefully January 18, 2011. He is the loving father of Kathleen (Rick) Butera, Linda Croce, Michael Croce, Charles Croce, brother of Mary (Frank) Pedulla, grandfather of Giovanna, Armand Butera and Alexa Croce. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Alferio and Maria Croce, brothers Alexander, Vito, Anthony and Michael Croce, sisters Antoinette Gentile, Filomena Croce, Ida Petrarca, Esther VanHaren and Laura Croce.

Charles was born and raised in Gibbstown, graduated from PHS and was a Staff Sergeant in the Army Air Force during WWII, receiving awards such as the Air Medal with 3 Oak Clusters and the Distinguished Flying Cross. He retired from the NJ State Police, after 28years of service, rising to the rank of Lieutenant.

A viewing will be on Friday 9-10:15am at the St. Clare of Assisi Parish, St. Michael's Church, Memorial Ave., Gibbstown, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30am.
