Obituary

Bruno Gattuso of Mickleton NJ and Lakeland Fl, formerly of Paulsboro, passed away June 6, 2021. He is the husband of the late Martha Gattuso (nee Fago), beloved brother of Frank (Barbara) (late Amelia) Gattuso, Anna B. Forfa (late Edward Bordon and Frank Forfa), Ermina (Louis) Passarella and Domenic (Sally) Gattuso. He was the loving companion of Rita Ercoli. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Antoinette (Robert) Gibson, Mary (John) Contino, Catherine (Alfonse) Fermano and Angela (William) Carney.

Bruno was a graduate of Paulsboro High School class of 1947.  Received his MA in Supervision and Development from Glassboro State College, he did graduate study at Villanova University and received his BA in Natural Sciences from Rutgers University.  He was a USAF Veteran, served 2 years in Okinawa and was awarded the Korean Service Medal, The National Defense Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of the Anthony T. Calista VFW Post 5579 in Gibbstown.

He was employed by the Deptford Township Schools from 1961-1991.  1966-1969 he was Department Chairman for Science and Math for Monongahela Junior High School, in 1969 he became vice principal at MJHS and in 1972-1973 he became acting principal . In 1980 until retirement  he became principal of Good Intent School. Bruno was a local musician who played the accordion in various musical groups in the area.

Friends and family are invited to his viewing on Thursday, at the St. Clare of Assisi Parish (St. Michael's Church), Memorial Avenue, Gibbstown, from 10am-11am where a Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery, Swedesboro. Arrangements by LANDOLFI FUNERAL HOME of Paulsboro.
