(nee Kennedy) Passed away peacefully on June 1, 2024, of Gibbstown, NJ, age 75 yrs. Beloved wife of over 55 years to Gerald O'Leary. Devoted mother of Bernadette Szakal and Gerald O'Leary. Dear sister of Joseph Kennedy, Patricia Caramanna, Michele Capaldi, and Mary Rimositis. Loving grandmother of Dimitri, Olivia, Jerry, and Sophie. Predeceased by her parents James and Mary Kennedy, her siblings: James, John and Thomas Kennedy, Agnes LaBella, Kathleen and Jacqueline Trump. Bernadette was raised in Camden, NJ and graduated from Camden Catholic High School. She was an avid reader who frequented the library. Bernadette was devoted to her Catholic faith which gave her a great sense of family. She loved babysitting her grandchildren and spending time with her family. Additionally, Bernadette enjoyed traveling, especially to the beach where she loved to walk along the boardwalk, dancing, and watching soap operas. Bernadette will always be remembered for her financial savviness and devotion to her faith and family. Funeral Services will be held privately.
