Anna Marie Reidy Kavanaugh, 88, passed away May 22, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Greigsville, NY and raised in Islip NY, where she graduated as valedictorian of Islip High School before going on to attend SUNY Alfred. Predeceased by her husband Richard J. Kavanaugh Sr., her parents Elizabeth and John and her five siblings, whom she loved dearly. Mother to Elaine Kavanaugh Croce (Mick), Terry Kavanaugh, Dianne K. Forand (David), Susan Foti (Joseph), Ann Kavanaugh, Richard J. Kavanaugh Jr. (Debbie) and David (Karen), Gram to 14 grandchildren and Super Gram to 19 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Known as Ann to her friends, she was a long-time member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish where she taught CCD, was a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Rosary and Bible Study groups for more than 50 years. She was first and foremost a mother and homemaker, but worked multiple places including Shady Lane Nursing Home where she volunteered as a companion and worked as an aide for 15 years, and the Paulsboro School District where she served in the Laudenslager Elementary School cafeteria for more than a decade.
Viewing will be held Friday, May 26 from 6-8PM and Saturday May 27 9:30-10:30AM at LANDOLFI FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Broad Street., Paulsboro. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11AM, Saturday May 27 at St. Clare of Assisi Parish (St. Michael's Church), 313 Memorial Ave., Gibbstown. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery, Swedesboro.
