Obituary

Angela "Babe" Tortella of Paulsboro, 94 years young, passed away July 9, 2020. She was born in South Philadelphia on July 30, 1925. Angela was the daughter of Charles and Carmella Mancini and the beloved wife of 53 years to Frank "Casper the Tailor" Tortella from Paulsboro. She was the loving mother of 9 children, 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Angela was predeceased by her husband Frank, her daughter Angela, grandson Michael, son-in-law Bill Rodgers, her brothers Jim, Danny and Junior.  Survived by her devoted children Frank (Carol), Chuck (Cathy), Casper (Eileen), Mary Ann (Carmen), Carmella (Michael), Veronica (Ellen), Danielle and Jimmy. Also survived by her sisters Chickie Orsamarsi and Vernie Priore.

She was mom-mom to her grandkids and great grandchildren and "Babe" to all who knew and loved her. "Babe" was an amazing homemaker, cook and singer, but, no doubt her best attributes were evident at the poker table - a better 7 card stud player there never was - as dad often said, "she was his card playing thoroughbred." Her entire life was dedicated to her family.

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions a Mass of Christian Burial will be held privately. If desired donations in Babe's memory may be made to either St. Jude Children's Hospital www.stjude.org or Shady Lane Nursing Home Department of Recreation, 256 County House Rd., Clarksboro NJ 08020. Arrangements by LANDOLFI FUNERAL HOME of Paulsboro. To share memories or condolences please visit www.landolfifuneralhome.com
