Andrew "Pinky" Hanko, 88, a life long resident of Gibbstown, passed away May 29, 2009. He is the brother of the late Michael Hanko. Beloved uncle of David, Catherine, John, Michael, Joe (Judy), George (Barbara) and Henry (Rosemarie) Kalnas. Also survived by many great nieces and nephews.
"Pinky" was the last survivor of the Hanko family, and, throughout his entire life he was the grounds keeper for the Hanko Family Estate. From 1942-1947, during WWII, he served in the AAF as a Sergeant with the 326 Carrier Squadron. He was an avid gardener providing his homegrown fruits and vegetables to many friends and relatives, especially if they were ill, loved nature, enjoyed woodworking, poetry, talented in his own artistic ways, and a very faithful Methodist.
